What’s in Your Newsletter?

by Stephanie Stubbs, Assoc. AIA, LEED-AP
Managing Editor
, AIArchitect

Managing Editor Stephanie StubbsTwo years ago, we totally revamped AIArchitect in response to a survey of the membership that essentially called for quicker reads, more practice and business information, better representation of the diversity of the membership, and easier navigation. The relaunch of AIArchitect in September 2006 was well received.

But, times change, needs change, and newsletters change. We will be sending out a survey to the membership later in the year, but are asking for a heads-up now: What do you like about AIArchitect, what would you change, what should be added? Subtracted?

Readers tend to say they want more practice and business coverage, yet our design and news sections continually get the most readership. What do you want to read? Do you want more explanation of what the AIA is doing for you?

How did you like the new photo gallery? (This is its third week running.) Do you like the Doer’s Profiles? Would you like more member-written stories? Is there too much information in one issue? Too little?

Would you rather receive the AIArchitect e-mail every other week? Would you prefer a daily news e-mail, or perhaps a Website that is updated every time we write and post a new article? Would an RSS feed be valuable to you? Links to more video or podcast multimedia content? How about a computer-generated search of architecture-related articles from other sources? Would that be helpful for you?

AIArchitect is for you. Tell us what you think and what you want.

Thanks for your input.

Leslie Divoll:

I always find time to read the newsletter, although sometimes limited to just a few links. You're providing coverage of a very wide range of topics and points of view -- ambitious, and worth the effort. Quite often I'll refer to the archives, or forward an item of interest to a client, consultant, or colleague. Can't say that about any other similar document.

Stephanie:

You are doing a fantastic job! Don't make too many changes to what is already a good thing!

AIArchitect has become jam-packed, totally interesting, with in-depth articles and reviews that are layered immaculately, seamlessly into a wholistic reading experience.
