One of the newest buildings to make the list of 150 is Italian architect Renzo Piano’s NewYork Times Building. There are many “green” features including design that allows for reduced-glare, natural light to provide illumination for nearly the entire work day. Thin, horizontal ceramic tubes placed one and a half feet in front of the interior of the curtain wall reduce the energy required to cool the building.

Bland milquetoast ... with intellecual pretensions. Just like the newspaper!

Wow, it's impressive to see the New york Times building on the list before it is even completed. Americans have better taste than I would have thought. I had the opportunity to see this building in person and must say it is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen. Breathtaking.

Until recently, I worked on the 23rd floor of a neighboring building and can attest to its beauty. The ceramic tubes change with the light; sunset is the best. Also, great architecture, quality tenants, and prominent ground-floor retail will hopefully begin to revitalize one of the most unpleasant areas of Midtown.
