The Voice of Associates

Welcome to the new blog for associates by the National Associates Committee (NAC). We hope this blog will become a forum in which you can share your thoughts on a multitude of topics that affect associate members.

Gauging your responses to past issues of AssociateNews, some particularly hot topics include intern titling and timing of the ARE. But to start off here, we’ll keep it light. I’ve invited you before to share your story of why you wanted to become an architect – now let’s focus on your pursuit of that goal; the practice of architecture.

Tell me your inspiring stories, for example, about a mentor who has made a positive impact and helped you make an important career choice or how it felt to see the first project you worked on as a completed building. It’s easy to lose focus of your goal and get lost in tallying up your IDP Training Units or zooming in so far on CAD that you spend entirely too much time detailing a single bolt. So let’s take a step back and think about the moments that make it all worth it.
