We want to know what you think “non-licensed” architects should be called. What is in the name or titling for you? What does it get you, where does it get you or how does it make you feel? Those of us on the licensure track are working really hard to earn the title of “architect” and those of us who are architects treasure the right to the title. So, what can we non-licensed individuals call ourselves without being confused with architectural students?

As someone who has been 'practicing' for a long time - often in other countries -and so not 'registered' here. The word 'intern' does seem to loose it's meaning after a few years. It seems to me that a great many 'interns' have had more experience at building 'safe' buildings than a lot of 'architects', so I am not sure that we should hang on so tenaciously to this term. However, are we missing the point altogether. If you google 'jobs - architect', the main thing that comes up are computer jobs. 'Architect' has been seconded by the computer industry. Is that not more of a danger to the profession than trying to define it from within.
For the record, the best suggestion I have heard on this blog is to adopt the same strategy as the engineers use - P.E. How about P.A. ?

Hmm it appears like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I
guess I'll just sum it up what I had written and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying
your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any tips for newbie blog writers? I'd really appreciate it.
