Intern Nation: How to Earn Nothing and Learn Little in the Brave New Economy

A new book , Intern Nation: How to Earn Nothing and Learn Little in the Brave New Economy, by Ross Perlin, will be published by Verso Books in May. In this book, Perlin chronicles the rise of professional internships and challenges unethical and illegal compensation practices and the companies, organizations, and institutions that perpetuate them. The publisher states that Intern Nation serves as "The first no-holds-barred exposé of the exploitative and divisive world of internships."

Perlin interviewed AIA staff members Kevin Fitzgerald and Brett Roeth during his research. The author noted that the culture of architectural inernships will be featured in the book.
