From the competition website (http://www.wamocompetition.org/):
The Washington Monument (WAMO) Competition encourages Americans of all ages and experience levels to submit creative ideas for making the area around the Monument more welcoming, educational, and effectively used by the public.
With your help, this National Ideas Competition will spark greater public interest and lively discussion about the Monument grounds – the legacy and future, historical context and contemporary thinking, and the 21st century use of this symbolic landscape in the civic life of our democracy.
Submit your ideas for this centerpiece of the National Mall.
